Project Overview
The E-Co Village spans approximately 2 hectares and features two platforms centered around heart-shaped lawns, symbolizing the concept of “starting with heart” to encourage environmental initiatives. The project successfully transformed the former Tseung Kwan O Stage I landfill into a vibrant public space offering diverse recreational facilities and innovative services to the community.
Engineering Excellence and Sustainability Features
As the Building Services Engineer, M&P Consulting Engineers implemented cutting-edge sustainable systems that contributed to the project’s exceptional environmental performance:
Energy Systems:
- 100% renewable energy supply including solar photovoltaic systems, solar hot water systems, and wind turbines
- Solar charging batteries and solar bollard lighting throughout the facility
- Energy-efficient building layout maximizing natural ventilation and daylight
Water Management:
- Greywater recycling system for irrigation purposes
- Advanced water conservation technologies integrated throughout the development

- Small-scale yard waste composting facility
- Building automation systems optimizing energy performance
- Integration of recycled building materials including displaced railway sleepers and palm fiber boards
