1st Locally Designed and Manufactured Hypoxia Chamber, Also Its Biggest Hypoxia chambers were introduced to Hong Kong some years ago. But those were small container sized units with(less than 10 sq.m.), imported from overseas, and none were locally designed or manufactured. Hong Kong’s sportsmen and sportswomen had to travel to China for high altitude training. So, when Hong Kong Baptist University decided on a large purpose-built environmental chamber to fit into their existing building, it was a new challenge. It was also hard to find a competent M&E consultant who would undertake such a project.Through open tender, HKBU found that only M&P would take up the challenge. M&P designed and supervised this pilot project through all its stages; fulfilled all the user requirements including esthetics, practicality and comfort; satisfied all the statutory regulations including public safety; controlled the budget; and successfully completed the project on time(i.e. September 2013 for the new university year). |
